Recent Maryland Projects: Roofing, Windows, Siding & Interior Repairs

Our AHI Roofing & Remodeling crews have been busy throughout Maryland, with recent projects taking us to Severn, Clinton, Odenton, Waldorf, and Pasadena.

While roofing is a big part of what we do, these projects show how often our work extends beyond the roof itself. We've recently completed interior water-damage repairs, replacement windows and doors, a full siding and gutter transformation, and even bedroom repairs alongside a new roofing system.

Here's a closer look at five recent projects.

Severn, MD: New TAMKO Roof & Interior Water Damage Repairs

Our first project takes us to Severn, Maryland, where the homeowner needed both a new roof and repairs to water damage inside the home.

For the exterior, we removed the existing shingles down to the roof deck so the underlying wood could be inspected and secured before installing the new roofing system.

The homeowner selected TAMKO Heritage architectural shingles in Black.

The complete roofing system included ice and water protection at vulnerable areas such as the eaves, valleys, pipes, and chimney, along with ABC synthetic underlayment, TAMKO starter shingles, matching hip and ridge shingles, white drip edge, and Lomanco ridge ventilation.

We also installed new pipe collars and chimney flashing.

Throughout the tear-off, our crew used tarps around the property to help protect the landscaping and covered the home's AC unit from falling debris. Once the roof was complete, we cleaned the gutters, removed the job-related debris, and performed a magnetic sweep around the property for loose nails.

Repairing the Interior Water Damage

Our work didn't stop at the roof.

Inside the home, the dining room and kitchen had drywall and ceiling damage that needed attention. We protected the floors and furniture before repairing, finishing, and sanding the damaged drywall.

The ceilings were then repainted with two coats for a clean finished appearance.

Clinton, MD: 9 ProVia Aspect Windows & Door Repairs

In Clinton, Maryland, our team completed a window replacement project along with repairs and improvements to both the front and rear doors.

We removed nine existing windows and replaced them with nine ProVia Aspect double-hung windows, keeping the grid pattern consistent with the home's original appearance.

The new windows feature ComforTech DLA-UV-HC R-7 double-pane glass with Low-E and Argon gas.

They also incorporate triple weather stripping, ComforTech warm-edge glazing, Innergy thermal reinforcements, double-strength glass, night locks, and half screens.

During installation, our crew applied spray foam around each opening to help create an airtight seal. The exteriors were then capped with aluminum and caulked for a watertight finish.

The windows include applicable lifetime manufacturer and glass-breakage warranty coverage, along with AHI's 10-year labor warranty.

Front & Rear Door Improvements

We also addressed deterioration around the home's doors.

The old front storm door was removed, damaged wood around the doors was replaced, and new weather stripping was installed at the front entrance.

Our team repainted the door trim and the front entry door, added a screen at the rear door, and installed a new Larson self-storing storm door.

The result was an upgrade that addressed several areas of the home's exterior at once rather than stopping with the windows.

Odenton, MD: GAF Timberline HDZ Roof Replacement

Back in Odenton, Maryland, our team completed a full roof replacement using a GAF roofing system.

The existing shingles were removed down to the roof deck, and an old satellite dish was removed and disposed of during the project.

Once the decking was exposed, our crew inspected the wood and secured loose areas before beginning the new roofing installation.

The homeowner selected GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Weathered Wood.

The new roof includes GAF ProStart starter shingles, GAF Seal-A-Ridge hip and ridge shingles, Cobra Snow Country ridge ventilation, ABC synthetic underlayment, and ice and water protection in critical areas.

We also installed new pipe collars and a new Lomanco 750 roof vent to complete the ventilation system.

Property protection remained a priority throughout the project, with tarps used around the home and plywood protecting the AC equipment during tear-off. Once the work was finished, we cleaned the gutters, hauled away debris, and performed a magnetic sweep around the property.

The new roof is backed by a 10-year AHI workmanship warranty, along with applicable GAF System Plus and manufacturer warranty coverage.

Waldorf, MD: CertainTeed Siding & Seamless Gutters on a 3-Level Townhouse

In Waldorf, Maryland, we recently gave a three-level townhouse a major exterior update with new siding and gutters.

This project also required a little patience before construction could begin because the homeowner needed approval from their HOA.

Once everything was approved, our crew removed the existing siding from the entire home and installed Tyvek house wrap, carefully taping the seams before the new siding system went on.

The homeowner chose CertainTeed MainStreet vinyl siding in Natural Clay, complemented by Sandstone Beige corners and exterior details.

New J-channel, sill trim, inside and outside corners, and aluminum starter were installed as part of the new system. We also installed matching blocks for exterior lights, hose bibs, dryer vents, and outlets.

To complete the exterior details, the garage door and trim beneath the windows were wrapped with Sandstone Beige aluminum coil stock.

New Seamless Gutters

The old gutters and downspouts were also removed and replaced with new 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters with hidden screw hangers and 3x4 downspouts.

The siding includes applicable limited lifetime material warranty coverage, while AHI provides a 5-year labor warranty on the siding installation and a 10-year labor warranty on the gutters.

Pasadena, MD: TAMKO Titan Class 4 Roof & Interior Bedroom Repairs

Our final project takes us to Pasadena, Maryland, where AHI completed both a premium roof replacement and interior repairs.

For the exterior, we removed the existing shingles down to the decking and inspected the roof deck before installing the new system.

The homeowner chose TAMKO Titan 50-year architectural shingles.

One of the standout features of TAMKO Titan is its Class 4 impact rating, along with a reinforced nailing zone designed for enhanced wind performance.

The roofing system also includes ice and water protection, ABC synthetic underlayment, TAMKO starter shingles, matching hip and ridge shingles, white drip edge, Lomanco ridge ventilation, and new pipe collars and chimney flashing.

Bedroom & Closet Repairs

Inside the Pasadena home, we also completed repairs in the bedroom and closet.

After protecting the surrounding floors and furniture, our crew repaired damaged drywall in the bedroom closet, finished and sanded the repaired areas, and painted the closet walls and ceiling.

The existing bedroom carpet was removed and replaced with a new 6-pound carpet pad and Shaw carpet.

We also removed and replaced an interior door with a new six-panel hollow-core door and new trim.

It's another good example of how a roofing project with AHI doesn't necessarily have to involve hiring another company when there are related repairs needed inside the home.
